Previously, in petrochemical enterprises, flameproof lighting fixtures were primarily used in explosive hazardous areas. With the application of increased safety electrical equipment in Zone 2 explosive hazardous areas, increased safety and composite lighting fixtures are increasingly being used. Increased safety lamps, while offering certain explosion-proof performance, have advantages over flameproof lamps, such as lighter weight, lower cost, easier installation and maintenance, and longer service life. The most commonly used composite electrical equipment in petrochemical enterprises is the increased safety-flameproof composite explosion-proof electrical equipment, generally consisting of three parts: flameproof components, increased safety terminals, and an increased safety enclosure. It combines the safety performance of flameproof types with the advantages of increased safety types. In daily maintenance, the following points should be noted.
Explosion-proof lamps should automatically cut off power before the cover is opened. However, due to the complexity of interlock devices, this is not easily achieved, so most lamps only have a warning sign in a conspicuous place on the housing stating "Do not open when powered." Additionally, since the bulb surface temperature remains high after power-off, immediately opening the cover may still pose a risk of igniting explosive gas mixtures (mainly referring to flameproof structures). Therefore, for light sources with high surface temperatures like incandescent, high-pressure mercury, and high-pressure sodium lamps, and for lamps with quick-open covers, this must be carefully considered. The CeY-1 explosion-proof fluorescent lamp, widely used in our unit, features an interlock mechanism that cuts power when the cover is opened, providing convenience and safety for maintenance. Since fluorescent lamps are cold light sources with no high surface temperature, the cover can be opened immediately after power-off.
Proper use of explosion-proof LED lamps is crucial, and these details are important.
1. Intermittent operation: It is recommended not to operate the lamp continuously for 24 hours, as continuous operation causes the lamp temperature to gradually rise. Higher temperatures significantly impact the lamp's lifespan, with higher temperatures shortening the lifespan further.
2. The ambient temperature for using LED explosion-proof lamps should not exceed 60°C. Temperatures above 60°C may reduce the lifespan by two-thirds.
3. Regularly start the lamp during use.
4. Check the transparent parts of the lamp for signs of impact and the protective net for looseness, desoldering, corrosion, etc. If any issues are found, stop using the lamp and perform maintenance or replacement promptly.
5. Regularly clean dust and other debris from the lamp housing (accumulated dust can block heat dissipation, leading to poor heat dispersion. This ensures good heat dissipation for the LED explosion-proof lamp). Good heat dissipation is a key factor in extending LED lifespan.
6. Avoid frequent switching of the lamp, as the current during startup is higher than during normal operation, causing a rapid increase in filament temperature and accelerated sublimation, greatly reducing lifespan. Minimize switching as much as possible.
7. Regularly check the voltage of the explosion-proof LED lamp circuit. If the voltage is unstable, perform line maintenance and inspection.
8. Replace damaged light sources in explosion-proof LED lamps promptly to prevent electrical components like ballasts from operating abnormally due to the light source failing to start.
9. When opening the lamp cover, follow the warning instructions: cut off power before opening. After opening, check the flameproof joint surface of the lamp for integrity, any abnormalities in the rubber seals, green or carbonized insulation on wires, and deformed or charred insulation parts and electrical components. If any issues are found, perform maintenance or replacement promptly.
10. Regularly clean dust and dirt accumulated on the lamp housing and tube. For lamps used in humid environments, if moisture is present inside the lamp cavity, clean it promptly to prevent rust, damage, or electrical short circuits over time.
